The Environment Creating Box

I wrote this last year….
THE ENVIRONMENT CREATING BOX

These were the worst years of my life. Well, literally. I was so obsessed with my work, I hardly ate or slept. All I did was tinkering with vacuum cleaners, A.C. parts and lighters. My best friend had said, "You can't do it. You can never make the machine." But I didn't listen to him. I didn't care what he said. I would make it.

Then at last, after ten years of hard work, I made it. It looked like a plain old piece of metal five square inches and it weighed seven kilograms. It was a box. By the way, my name is Armaan Shah. So let us continue with the story. But as they say, 'never judge a book by its cover', so don't be fooled. It even had a small, shiny, red button on it. Then I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, I ran to my best friend Barry's house with the box.

When I reached his house, I told him, "I've made it!!" Barry replied, "Impossible! Show me." So, I hired a helicopter which would take us to the top of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world. We wore more than 20 layers and took an oxygen mask with us. When we reached, Barry said over the radio, "Do it." so I, 'Did it.'

I placed the box on the tip of the mountain and pressed the button. The box grew into a huge machine. It had tiny tubes on the sides and a long tube coming out of the top. It had a sucker on the other side of the top and a vast tube on the middle of the top. I knew a thin tube was coming out of the bottom. The tiny tubes started making oxygen. The long tube on the top started to spray seeds and water.
One tube started to suck in all the pollution out of the air. And the vast tube started to create ozone to fix the Ozone Layer. The thin tube gave out water to the insides of Mt Everest which would eventually go underground.

Barry was too stunned to speak. Finally he said “Wow”! I replied “I know. Now let us go, our work over here is done”. So we sat in the helicopter that took us home. Now the machine would keep making environment!!!!!

The Adventures of Harry - Part 1

Once upon a time, there lived a boy named Harry who was 15 years old. He had pure black hair and blue eyes. He was strong and thin and lived at the edge of the forest. Every day Harry went for a walk inside the forest and even had animal friends. His animal friends included a rabbit, a parrot, a bear, a deer, a squirrel, and a monkey.

One day, Harry went to another part of the forest. He walked on and on until he reached lots of trees looking as if they were hiding something. He went amid the trees and found an old man with a very long beard, which reached his knees. Harry asked the old man, “What is your name?”

The old man turned around in surprise.

“What is your name?” He asked.

“My name is Harry,” Harry replied.

“What!” said the old man.

“What, what!” said Harry. “I mean why did you say ‘what’ when I told you my name?”

“Because you are a magical boy,” said the old man.

“I am a magical boy! How can I do magic? I haven’t done anything magical in my life!”

“I know because you don’t yet know how to do magic. I will teach you magic. Come here at the same time tomorrow.”

“OK,” said Harry.
***

The next day, Harry went near the same trees and met the same old man. The old man said, “So you came!”

“But,” Harry said, “First tell me your name.”

“OK, my name is Sam and you can call me by my name,” said the old man.

“Come, now let me teach magic to you.”

Then Sam gave magic lessons to Harry. This went on for several months. Every day, Harry would go to the old man in the morning and learnt all that the old man taught him.

One day, the old man said, “Son, you have now learnt all that I had to teach you. Now you can go and use your magic, but remember to use it only for good things and never misuse it.”

“Thank you, Sam,” said Harry.

“But before you leave, Harry, I want to give you a gift.”

“What kind of a gift?”

“A sword,” replied Sam.

Harry was surprised, “A sword!”

“Yes, a sword, the name of which is Lightening Bolt,” said Sam. “It is a magical sword that can control lightening. Let me show you how.”

Sam, then, raised the sword in the air and there was lightening in the sky.

“Wow!” said Harry. “And so amazing. I don’t believe this sword would be mine!”

“It will be yours,” said Sam. “But beware of the sorcerer names Flynn.”

“Who’s Flynn?”

“Flynn is an evil sorcerer who lives –“

“What happened, why did you stop?” questioned Harry.

Sam replied, “Because nobody knows where he…. NO!!!“

A voice thundered from nowhere, “Where I live? Then you are totally right!”

“Oh no! It’s Flynn!”

“Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I saw the lightening and have come to take the sword. I had been looking for it for years! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

Flynn flew down and snatched the sword from Sam’s hands. Sam fell down with the sudden push from Flynn.

Lightning looked closely at Flynn. He had eyes like a snake and was tall with wings like a bat. His nose was sharp and pointed and his ears resembled a fish fin. Flynn’s legs were similar to a dragon’s with claws, while his fingers were long and bony. He also had a long tail that ended in a spiky ball.

As soon as he snatched the sword, Flynn turned around and flew away. Harry helped Sam get up and asked him, “Where is he going? And why doesn’t anyone know where he lives?”

“Because nobody dares to find out.”

“Then, let’s follow him and get back the sword.”

Sam and Flynn looked in the direction Flynn had flown to and followed him to a temple. Harry looked around the temple, “Wow! This is so big! Now I will try to get my sword back from Flynn with the magic you’ve taught me.”

Harry tiptoed behind the pillar where Flynn was hiding. Flynn was thinking about the sword and the destruction he would cause with it and did not notice Harry or Sam following him. As he was thinking, Harry made a fire with one hand and a mini tornado with another. Then, he directed the tornado towards the sword in Flynn’s hands and the tornado sucked the sword out of Flynn’s hands.

When Flynn realized that the sword was gone, he shouted at Harry, “How dare you!!!”

And the fight began. There was complete chaos. The trees were burning and the ground was blackened with fire all around. There was a mountain nearby and Harry decided to climb it. As he ran towards the mountain, he told Sam, “Distract Flynn, while I climb that mountain.”

Sam used his magical power to distract Flynn, while Harry found a narrow ridge in the mountain close to an alley, which he used to climb it. When he looked down, he saw Sam fighting with Flynn. Then he realized that it had grown very hot because of the fire. As he reached the mountain top, he thought of a plan.

He summoned lightening through his sword and aimed it towards Flynn. The sword struck Flynn and he fell down instantly, never to get up again.

As the sword returned to Harry, he summoned the wind with all his strength and rode down the mountain with the wind. As Flynn died, his magical powers ceased and the fire in the forest also stopped. Sam collected himself from the ground where he had fallen and remarked, “Good aim, Harry. Your strike killed the evil sorcerer Flynn. You should go home now.”

Harry looked around the forest, which was now free from all evil magic and was green again. He smiled and said, “You’re right. I should be going home now. Bye!”

The Adventure of Jack & Sam

Once upon a time there lived two brothers, Jack and Sam with their parents in a house on the edge of a forest. Jack was fourteen years old and Sam was twelve years old. Jack and Sam’s parents had often told them not to go in the forest because it could be dangerous.

One Saturday morning when Jack and Sam had woken up at 6:00 am they found out that their parents were still sleeping.

“Don’t wake Mum and Dad, I want to ask you something”, Jack said to his younger brother Sam.

“What do you want to ask me?” asked Sam.

“I want to ask you if you want to go to the forest?” said Jack.

“But Mum and Dad said that it could be dangerous” said Sam.

Yeah but it would be fun – I mean we could live in caves, do whatever we want to do and go anywhere we like” said Jack.

“But Mum….” said Sam.

“Don’t be such a baby” said Jack.

“OK, let’s go” said Sam.

“Good, now let’s pack the things we have to take before Mum and dad wake up” said Jack.

So they packed the things they needed and set off towards the forest.

In one hour Jack & Sam had reached the forest. They kept close together so that they won’t get lost. “Its creepy in here” said Jack. “I told you let’s not come to this creepy forest, but you said we have to come” said Jack’s younger brother Sam. “I never said we need to come, I said I am going, not we both” said Jack.

“But you said….” said Sam.

“I said nothing, nothing of that sort” said Jack. “Let’s go further in the forest and stop arguing”

“OK let’s go” said Sam.

So they went deeper into the forest. Now the leaves of the trees were getting greener and it was getting darker. When Jack & Sam went forward, they saw a temple.

“What is a temple doing in a forest?” Jack wondered aloud.

“How do I know” said Sam.

“I expected that from you” said Jack, “but there is only one way to find out. Let’s go inside.”

“OK” said Sam.

So they went inside the old temple. It was a little dark because there were lanterns hung on the walls of the ancient temple. The walls were made out of stone. Jack and Sam went deeper in the ancient temple. After sometime they were in a small round-shaped room.

“What is a room doing here? asked Sam.

“Because I live here.” came a voice.

“Wh…who is it” stammered Sam.

“I” , said the voice. An old man appeared from the shadows.

“Who are you and what is your name?” Jack asked the old man.

“I am an old man as you can see and my name is Alan Roy” said the old man.

“You can call me Mr. Roy. What are your names?”

“Our names are Jack & Sam” Jack said. “But what are you doing here Mr. Roy?”

“I..” he hesitated for five seconds and then he said “I was searching for a big treasure and then I got old and since then I have been waiting for somebody to come to this old temple, and you both came so I pass this job on to you?”

“Us?” asked Sam, “Bring it on”. So Jack and Sam set off for their big search.

“Where should we start from?” said Jack. “I mean, Mr Roy did not tell us where to begin.”

“And there are two paths leading somewhere or the other” said Sam.

“Did you notice those two signs saying ‘Warning: Quick Sand’ on the right and ‘Picnic Spot’ on the left?’ said Jack.

“Let’s go right because the people who hid the treasure must have hidden it inside the quick sand,” said Sam.

So they went right, right into the quick sand. Sam stepped into the quick sand.

“Hey, I’m sinking” yelled Sam. Sam sank down till his neck and then something solid touched his leg.

“What was that”, he said. He pulled it out and saw it was a treasure chest.

He said “Let’s give this treasure chest to Mr. Roy.

“OK” said Jack.

So Jack and Sam ran back to the temple where Mr. Roy was waiting for them. After what seemed like half an hour, jack and Sam reached the ancient temple. They went through the maze of the ancient temple. Finally they reached the circular room where Mr. Roy lived. They searched for Mr. Roy and after sometime, Jack shouted “Where are you Mr. Roy!”

Then Mr. Roy replied shouting “I am here. I am coming!”  Then he came out. Jack and Sam showed him the treasure box. He said “So you got it! You can go home now.”

And Jack and Sam went home.
